NAV+ is the latest generation soaring flight navigation software,
developed under the most recent computation paradigms as "Mobile
Computation” and "Ubiquitous Computing”. Together with FlyMaster
F1, it forms the most complete soaring flight instrument, featuring all
the necessary information either for leisure, XC, or competition flight. Running
FlyMaster NAV+ requires a Windows Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition PDA, or
above. Most of the Nav+ features can be obtained using a standard GPS
with NMEA format communication capability, however, full performance and
features can only be obtained by using NAV+ in combination with
Flymaster’s F1 module. NAV+ stands out from other flight
instruments not only in the type of information it provides, but also
how that information is shown and the way it communicates with the user. Flymaster
takes advantage of the stronger computation power, larger memory
capacity and higher graphic resolution of the PDA’s. Instead of just
numeric information, NAV+ uses graphics that change dynamically adapting
to each moment during flight. Examples of the Dynamic
Display Information are the automatic change from "Thermal” to
"Transition Mode”, and the automatic zoom allowing the pilot to see the
thermal when climbing or the turn point boundaries during transition. Interacting
with NAV+ it is very simple, in addition to Windows type menus, the
touch screen or a stilet can be used to define a task, obtain
information, or configure the device. The NAV+ navigation system was developed to optimize pilot decisions during flight, both competition and leisure. Fundamentally
it values clarity and ease of reading, concentrating key factors at the
moment of decision making during each stage of flight.
